Consider this as a challenge for yourself: Take a short break on the storm of thoughts rounding your head and focus on this: How far can you go this year?

This question might seem too broad to answer, but actually, that is the purpose of it. This invitation touches on your objectives for this year. And if you do not know where you are going (or in other words, which main objectives you are pursuing), then any way would be fine for you. Can you still answer the main question without knowing what you want to achieve this year?

If not, which is possibly the case, then you should choose the 3 most important things for this year. It can be anything that you had in mind, for example, from a holiday trip to a meaningful relationship, or break your personal records in a favourite sport. The choice of the 3 main goals is completely yours.

Next step: Write them down. Science has proven that the human brain is very imaginative, but it is more effective when it can visualise these ideas, which can be in form of words, drawings, paintings, or any other way of visual expression.

Think for 5 minutes about each of these objectives and visualise them as if they were in front of you. Then write any idea of reaching them that comes to your mind. Do not judge your ideas initially, just drop them down on paper.

After doing that for each main objective, take a second look to evaluate in which way you can organise these in form of achievable goals or tasks. At this stage, you should evaluate if you will do everything by yourself or if someone else could help. Do not be afraid of asking for help, especially your goal is that big. Sometimes even some advice from a friend who is an expert in the topic could help.

Of course, nothing will turn into reality if you do not really commit to your own goals. After choosing them, look again and rethink if this is really what you want to achieve this year. And most important, answer why you want to achieve them.

Later in this year, go back to your 3 most important goals and check your progress. See which changes needed to be made and which route was readjusted. Visualise them again to boost your confidence and recheck the plans.

This process should not be complicated, but just a way to push yourself forward. If you are finding internal resistance, then look back if these goals really have a deep meaning for you. Maybe they were just a wish. Another possibility is that you have little knowledge about it, then you will need to improve this by reading, watching videos, or talking to people about it.

In the end, the choice is only yours, and you know within that you can make it happen. It is up to you to decide how far you can go this year.
