Topic of the day: Sharing ideas and changing the world
How many ideas have you had but did not put into practice? Our mind is in a constant flow of thoughts and it is a pity that we do not use this huge potential. We can constantly improve our standards if we scan our thoughts and implement the best ideas we have.
But of course, putting ideas into practice is not an easy task. We face several barriers, both internally and externally, which ends up demotivating us to take action. Sometimes we self-judge ourselves before even considering how successful our idea could turn out to be. We might think that the idea is not worth it, or that we are not capable of implementing it. Also, when looking outside we might see that it is too difficult to make it happen due to innumerable circumstances.
However, when we act this way, we are actually limiting our own potential. We forget that exist a strong force outside called the power of collective, which can push our ideas ahead and help turning them into reality.
We need to trust more ourselves and our capacity, filter what we believe that could work and start taking small steps towards realization. And a great way to move ahead with our ideas is by sharing with people we trust and who have similar mindset. This exchange of thoughts can greatly contribute to turn our original ideas into better versions and even add some missing parts that we could not realize by ourselves. At the end, we reach levels of clarity that were initially completely unknown for us.
Almost every idea we have can potentially solve a problem for us or for someone else in our society. Just make a quick brainstorm about your ideas today and classify them into how they could help you improve your own conditions or of your family. There is always something to be improved but we sometimes are unaware or too lazy to act. By sharing our ideas, we find the inspiration and the missing link to make them real. We also start counting on others to help us achieve these goals (that at the beginning were only ideas).
When I did my master’s degree in renewable energy at Hanze University in the Netherlands, they had a very interesting and inspiring slogan: Share your ideas, change the world. And that is, especially for a university, so completely true! But this is not only true in the academic world, because actually everyone can benefit on sharing their ideas and changing the world around them. Keep in mind that knowledge without action is useless, which is the same for ideas.
By being aware that you can make things different, you start developing a mindset of not accepting wrong things just because they have always been like that. You will question many things and start having ideas about how to change and improve them. Then by sharing your thoughts you gain more adepts to your ideas who will push together the wheel of change. And you will start implementing those ideas because it became so obvious the benefits and how to implement them. At a certain point in life, you will be amazed on how far you reached compared to when you started shaping your reality with your ideas. You will realize that the world is limitless of opportunities. We were just blind to them.
I invite you to join this group of thinkers and start taking action. Connect your ideas with other minds and see the spark of change happening around you.
